Bodily Injury & Property Damage Liability
REQUIRED BY LAW.
Pays bodily injury and/or property damage to the other person(s), stemming from an accident, for which you are legally responsible.
Also, can help pay for your defense in a lawsuit stemming from such an accident.
The law requires $15,000 per person/$30,000 per accident/$5,000 property damage per accident (usually written 15/30/5).
Failure to provide proof of this when required can lead to large fines and possible suspension of your license.

Medical Payments
Pays for medical and funeral expenses to you and/or your passenger(s) arising out of a car accident.
This coverage can help pay for immediate medical expenses or even help pay your health insurance deductible. This is especially important if you or your passengers do not have health insurance. Keep in mind that Bodily Injury Liability coverage does not cover yourself.

Comprehensive
Pays for accidental loss or damage to your car by something other than a collision, minus your deductible. This can be things such as fire, theft, vandalism or even a broken windshield.

Collision
Pays for accidental damage to your car from a collision, minus your deductible.

Uninsured Motorist
Pays for bodily injury to you and/or your passengers caused by collision with a motor vehicle driven by an uninsured motorist.

Uninsured Motor Vehicle Property Damage
Covers damage to your car caused by collision with an uninsured motorist.

Towing
Pays for the fair cost of a service call or towing when your car is disabled.

Car Rental
Pays up to an agreed upon amount towards the use of a rental car while your car is being repaired due to a covered loss or accident. The number of days and amount per day is subject to the terms of your policy.
